Cities are changing and so are their builders. They are cities built on craft and big ideas, and the ones who are creating them aren’t afraid of hard work or getting their hands dirty. The benchmark for success has risen and those who are daring enough will rise up to meet it, wearing Dickies – the only brand that understands that you have to build the world you want to live in.
Drinking good wine with good food, in good company is one of life’s most civilised pleasures, and this is something we know Liam Tomlin believes in. Born in Dublin, Ireland, Liam Tomlin has always had a passion for food. Beginning his career at just 14 years old, Liam has had the opportunity to work in some of the finest restaurants and kitchens in Europe and Ireland and has earnt many accolades over the years including the coveted 3 Hats Award and the Restaurant of the Year title in the 2001 Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide Awards. In 2001 Liam also earnt the Gourmet Traveller Restaurant of the Year award.
In 2004 Liam and his wife, Jan, moved to Cape Town, South Africa where they started up their consultancy company and then opening the Chefs Warehouse & Canteen on Bree Street in 2014. Something of a master chef, Liam has found himself winning many awards over the years.
Being in the kitchen for 18 hours a day, means that Liam is in need of clothing that is as hardworking as he is. This is where Dickies comes in. Stared in 1922, Dickies clothing is known to be hardwearing, long-lasting, as well as stylish, making it the perfect brand for Liam Tomlin. Liam says about Dickies “if it (Dickies clothing) were a plate of food, I’d be happy with it.” Which is high praise coming from this self-confessed tough guy.
